Benefit show for Kevin Marcotte: Please join us Thursday, August 7th at the White Eagle Saloon for a very special show. All proceeds from the event will benefit bass player Kevin Marcotte's recovery from surgery.

As many of you know, Kevin fell ill immediately following CL&W's performance at the Waterfront Blues Festival, and has been in the hospital ever since.

Joining us on the evening of the 7th will be our friends the Sam Marshall Trio from Seattle, and our good friend and local one man band Rollie Tussing. During the evening we will also be raffling off a variety of prizes donated by local companies and individuals, including large quantities of beer donated by the Widmer Bros. Brewery.

Spread the word and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Also, check out the Media page for some new additions. From Colin's recent appearance on KMHD's show Mississippi West to promote the Firewater compilation (available at CD Baby), we present an interview and an exclusive live rendition of "Woman On The Hill".

There's also two new videos, one showcasing Colin at last year's Telluride Blues and Brews Festival, the other featuring his workshop session from the 2008 Waterfront Blues Festival. Enjoy!
Music journalist Zaph Mann caught up with Colin before CL&W's CD release party at Lola's Room in Portland, June 14th. Click here to read the interview as well as a review of the show.

Earlier that day, Colin recorded his tune "Woman on the Hill" for a local compilation album called Firewater. Recorded by the engineers of Tone Proper at Supernatural Sound studios, Firewater is a production of the Rainmaker Music Group and will make its debut at the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival.

The album also features songs by our friends Rollie Tussing, Joe McMurrian Quartet, and Sassparilla and will be available at CL&W's performance on the A&E Stage (6pm, Thursday, July 3rd). Come meet Colin and the band at the Music Millennium tent immediately following that performance. See you there!

Colin plays with Vince Herman and Great American Taxi. Colorado-based band "Great American Taxi" tore the roof off of the Goodfoot Lounge on Saturday night with a very special guest on lap-slide guitar. Colin played most of the show with the band as they rumbled and stomped through a variety of classic tunes, as well as a slew of songs from their new album Streets of Gold. Colin also sang and led the band through a smoking rendition of the Son House staple "Preachin' Blues".

Visit www.greatamericantaxi.net to listen to and learn more about Taxi.

Bullet is available online and is now shipping! Click here to order Bullet through CD Baby. The album is now in stock and will ship immediately. This will be the only way to purchase the new album until May 20th when it will be available in stores nationwide and online.

We are also proud to announce that Colin's tune "Ady's Song" will appear in the upcoming film, 199 Lives. The film chronicles the life and career of motorcyclist and daredevil Travis Pastrana and will play at over 500 theaters across the country. Watch the theatrical trailer for the film on YouTube here. 199 Lives comes to Portland in mid April.

We are thrilled to announce that Bullet is now available for pre-order at CD Baby. Click here to go to the ordering page and be amongst the first to own it!

Work on the new album Bullet is progressing steadily. The tracks have recently been mastered by Kevin Nettleingham of Nettleingham Audio. Kevin is well known for his work on albums by Spoon, Elliott Smith, Mel Brown and many, many more.

In other news, CL&W will be touring Colorado in early April. A few dates have been announced and are currently listed on the schedule page. Check back regularly; more dates will appear throughout the month of January as they are confirmed.

Also, a new batch of photos have been added to the photo page, including some from Kevin Marcotte's 30th birthday bash last month at the Kenton Club – certainly a night to be remembered (for those who can remember it). Special thanks to Cam Booth for the photos and for his stellar web design.
